Wandering Bards is a music community for adults in Salt Lake City. When you become a student at Wandering Bards you don't only get private instrument or vocal lessons. You also get to come to our weekly group classes, our many social events, and the chance to join a real rock band that performs locally.
Music is more than the beauty of chords and scales. Music connects us to each other. At Wandering Bards we foster that connection so that our students grow with other adults just like you. Learning to play an instrument or sing shouldn't just be done in the solitude of your bedroom. We take that journey and pair you with other adults so that you can learn and grow together.
Whether you’re a total beginner, a rusty former musician, or someone who has always wanted to do this but never quite started, you belong here.

I’m Mike and I'm the founder and music director at Wandering Bards, SLC. I help adults rediscover their love of music connecting them with other musicians to learn and grow with.
I have a background in psychology, decades of teaching experience both public and private, and I have a passion for community building and connection. I’ve built a one-of-a-kind space where fun, skill-building, and community go hand in hand. A space where you truly find your sound and your people.
Whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time, returning after years away, or chasing that next level, this is where you will find the motivation, growth, and belonging that you're seeking.
Let's take the next step together.

Our community is built on genuine connection & we're proud to have hundreds of 5-star ratings across our online presense! Here are a few words from our students and community.
