I’m Mike Leavitt, a professional musician, educator, and former Music Director at School of Rock, where I led programs and trained musicians in California. I’ve taught guitar, bass, ukulele, and band performance at School of Rock and Salt Lake Academy of Music, working with students of all levels, including many who are neurodivergent.
With a degree in Psychology and years of experience in both education and performance, I’ve developed a unique, song-driven teaching method that focuses on collaboration, creativity, and live performance. I believe that learning music should be an adventure—one where you’re immersed in the music you love, surrounded by a supportive community, and growing as both a musician and an artist.
Now, I’m building Wandering Bards, a place where adults can rediscover their passion for music, connect with fellow musicians, and embark on a musical journey inspired by the camaraderie and storytelling of a wandering bard. Whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time or returning to a long-lost passion, I’d love to help you take the next step.
